dirt moving, BABY

YAHH! So finally on Saturday we will have earth moving equipment here! (a.k.a. dig-digs!) :)

They are starting the foundation hole on Monday morning!! YIPPEE! :) We will have the foundation concrete guy here on Wed.! It's all finally starting to come together. Of course, our LOVELY neighbors to the side of us out back ratted on us about Brian's shed he put up so we could stop paying storage. So we have to get a permit for it and they won't give us that permit until we get the house building permit, and because our aforementioned neighbor used to be some sort of councilman in the city, they listened to him about the water run-off issues that HE has and that we are near wetlands, and so we need to get the conservation guy to sign-off on our drawings, even though they are development board approved already! So he is putting us through HELL to get this permit because he doesn't want us building out back next to him! Keep in mind that they have already sold their house, which they were planning from forever ago, and are moving VERY soon! What the hell do they care?? The guy came out of his house tonight while Brian was planning out posts for the driveway, which runs next to their house, and started yelling at him and asking him whether he had a permit for a curb cut and when Brian told him, yeah, that we got it approved, he started grilling Brian about it!! Apparently he was down to City Hall snooping about our plans all along! How childish can you get!!?? So, Brian just told him that we have everything squared away and that we aren't anywhere NEAR the little stream for the conservation concerns, and he started telling Brian that he didn't want "OUR" water run-off to back-up into his yard when we start to build. Brian reminded him that the water run-off issue is coming from HIS yard into ours, and that we will actually be HELPING him, because we will be building in drainage, so we would actually be drying out his property! Then Brian said, "didn't you already sell your house?" and the guy says, "yeah", so Brian says, then why do you care about this?? So the guy just mumbles, yeah, I guess.. and goes back to his house!! Thank God they are moving...it's too bad, though, in a way, because his son Matt and Luke play out back, and Matt's a sweet kid and Luke really likes him. It's too bad his parents are dinks!!

ANywho, so we are praying that the permits are all good to go tomorrow. Either way, we can dig all we want in the meantime, I guess....

So keep your fingers crossed for us.... I will update with pics when they get going on all of this!

Also, Luke is going on his first weekend campout without us this weekend with the boy scouts! I am freaking out!!! I was ok up until now, and now I am losing it!! He is my baby still...I can't let him take off with strangers in the woods!! AAHH! I want to cry thinking about it! Of course, he is happy as hell about going and being independent and tells me i'm too obsessive! :( wah, wah!!

Luke's "gilly".........

Ok, for those of you who aren't aware...Luke has been having a recent obsession with military snipers. He just read a couple of books about some, and he just did a school report on his hero, Carlos Hathcock..a famous Marine sniper from the Vietnam War. Brian got him a tactical vest and a green Army jacket. So today he has been out all day with his friend out back, playing snipers. Oy vey! He came in with a homemade gilly suit. Pretty clever, I had to take a pic...he's so grown up now!! Makes me want to cry!! Where is my baby???

--I couldn't take Sam's Kramer hair anymore, so I buzzed it off last Tuesday night. He is SO cute...he is VERY big boyish now with the buzz cut! :) (Ignore the stoned Brian look...not sure what was goin on there! LOL)

--I took a pic of the tree in our backyard..pics DO NOT do it justice...it is gorgeous right now!!

--The other Sammy pics were of him after he grabbed his cereal spoon out of the bowl that was next to him on the couch! Tricky little guy!! I couldn't believe it when I walked into the room! He was holding it pretty well, too! Not sure HOW he got it, but he did all by himself, so I'm celebrating it!!! (he was pretty proud, too!) :)
