Sammy loves his pom-pom!! He also loves his dinos that Luke donated to him to play with in the tubby! I will have to video him making his dino sound--it is the funniest thing you will ever hear!! :)

So here are some pics of the Sammy-meister. I never seem to have pics of Luke because he's just too old and cool to want mom to snap photos. Good thing I overdid it when he was little, hah?? ;)
The bowling pins I made from my new cupcake decorating book for John's birthday since it was (obviously) a bowling theme. These are all just learning lessons at the moment , that's why I am making them for family, so I can work out the bugs before I make them for anything else, if I ever do. Less pressure that way. These didn't come out as cute as in the book, but in the picture on here they don't look too bad, at least you can tell what they are? :)

Sammy's super immune system
Ok, so this is really weird, Sammy's goopy nose only lasted like a day and a half!! How strange....He never got the Luke cough, and just has the littlest bit of leftover stuffies, but no more goobies!! I am so thankful he has a super germ fighting body! God spared us in one way! (Other than giving us a cutie-patootie, of course!)
His PT was very impressed last Friday and today with how hard he is working in therapy and said he has definitely made gains since last summer, i.e. trying to sit indep., purposeful reaching and aim. (He also doesn't cry as much when he gets frustrated..he is a little easier to distract now and get back to work.) Makes me happy to hear this, especially from the therapist that I wasn't crazy about last time we did private therapy! Things are much better this time around for some reason. Her bedside manner is much more appropriate for a little kid this time! :)
I have tubby pics to post, but will have to do it on Monday since I can't post anything on my poo-poo dial-up! :(

So much for Spring.... what the heck with the germs out there???? Luke started Friday afternoon with a little cough and came back from his Dad's on Sunday with a full-blown respiratory virus. He had a low grade temp and horrible sounding cough Monday and Tuesday and stayed home from school both days. He is still coughing today but insisted on going to school!! What a kid, hah?? :) Now Sam is sneezing and coughing a bit with some goopy nose going on. Poor Sammy! He had his OT eval for private therapy yesterday and now will be starting all of his therapies on a weekly basis. Only about a half an hour a piece, but at least he'll be getting them. We'll see what happens with trying him back at school when it warms up.
House update..... they are sanding our floor, baby!! Oh yeah!! :) We have to wait until like Sunday before we can put down paper on the floor so we can walk on it to finish things up in there. Can't wait to get things really rocking and MOVE IN!! :)

spring is in the air....
I know, I realize that the deer don't hibernate, but we haven't seen them all winter, so it's a sign of spring to me that they are back in the backyard. Twice last night! there are 4 of them now....apparently the children have "failure to launch" ! :) There is a small one that is the new baby..too cute... the pics aren't the best, but what can ya do?? Sammy loves them... We were looking at them from the driveway, and he kept "talking" to them and they would look up and then go right back to eating. :)

Sammy the "sock head"
Or at least that's what Luke called him when he had his "sock" hat on his head because he had his 24 hr. EEG electrodes on his head. We got them put on at about 10:00 Wed. morning at Baystate and Brian brought him back this morning to get them taken off. We had a log to fill out with his schedule and a button to press that marked the EEG if we saw any symptoms. He got a cool horsie backpack that held the monitor pack. He liked that--we figured Mary would be jealous! LOL ;)
We finally got the results late this afternoon after playing phone tag and we were told that even though the EEG was abnormal, as it always is, obviously since he has permanent brian damage, there was NO signs of any seizures. Obviously good news, now we won't have to mess with trying to add another med to the Zonegran. We are very grateful for this! Now I am looking for another answer as to why he is waking up and posturing and crying. I know it's not his reflux, so I'm trying to see if the neuro will try him on a muscle relaxant for nighttime to see if it's spasticity that's making him uncomfortable. We'll see.... it's a crap shoot at this point, I guess... I am just grateful that he's sleeping through a couple of nights here and there... seldom, but at least it's SOMEtimes! :)
So here he is with the "turban".
